Fighting the Disease

15 months recovered, forever at peace.

Every day is a new day to learn, to grow, and to succeed.

Life is constantly moving forward, whether you want it to or not.  Sometimes we have good days, sometimes we have bad days.  Sometimes we feel like the good or the bad will last forever…but it won’t.  We have the choice of making the next instant better or worse.

School and finances are the two subjects currently in my life that continuously require attention and a decent amount of energy.  Its easy to fall behind or get a little lazy every now and then.  In order to do well in school I have to go to class, do homework, spend time studying, participate in the classroom, and open my mind to new topics and conceptualize the material so I can learn what I’m being taught.  In order to stay ahead on my finances I need to work,  I need to save money, I need to budget, I need to pay my bills on time to avoid late fees…and so on and so forth.  Although I am in favor of taking a break from work and school from time to time to let my mind rest and simply enjoy a free day, it is incredibly important to not get caught in a cycle of putting things to the side for a later time.  For me..that would be a destructive recipe for anxiety.

So, I have learned to maintain a balance.  Giving myself a break brings rewards and consequences..but if I take care of my responsibilities in a timely matter, my reward will be much greater than the consequences.  That is my focus for today.  Yesterday was another break day for me…the consequences are that I need to really catch up on my work today and I need to pay attention to what I’m putting my money towards.  But my reward…I feel relaxed and well put together.  I spent time with the people I love yesterday and that gives me an extra dose of positivity for today.  Because I feel so well rested and nourished…I know that I can complete my tasks for the day, catch up on my work, balance my finances, and by the end of the day I won’t feel anxiety or behind in my responsibilities.

Its going to be a fantastic Tuesday…I won’t allow it to be anything less :)
